General Responsibilities of all Board Members
The UUFCC being a spiritual home, all Board members are asked to come together in a spirit of trust, respect, and love to create a supportive and nurturing team that carries forward the work of the Board. Board responsibilities include:
- The ultimate fiduciary responsibility for the current and future well-being of UUFCC;
- Facilitating and motivating advancement of UUFCC’s Vision and Mission;
- Establishing, updating, knowing, and following the Fellowship’s policies and promoting the congregation’s awareness of policies;
- Protecting the financial security of UUFCC;
- Listening to the membership, operating transparently and explaining the Board’s actions and thinking to the membership;
- Calling and organizing congregational meetings as appropriate.
Accepting a position on the Board also carries a commitment to honoring the terms of any agreed-upon Board covenant, attending all Board meetings and Board retreats, and coming prepared to these meetings and retreats.
