Welcome! We’re glad you’re here. Thanks for visiting our website and checking us out. Our Fellowship comes together to experience the wonder and awe of life, to feel the comfort and joy gained from gathering in community, and to remind each one of us of what matters most: taking care of each other.

When And Where?

Our Sunday Services are held every week, at 10:00 a.m., in-person at our Fellowship building and on ZOOM (https://zoom.us/j/96439565352). Our services typically last about an hour.

What Are Sunday Services Like?

UUFCC embraces a broad spiritual diversity. Our services are welcoming and inclusive.  They typically include lighting the chalice, along with a mixture of elements such as  readings, sharing of joys and sorrows and a thoughtful reflection or sermon. Music, including hymns, choral selections and offerings from musicians in our community, is also an important part of the service structure.

Within this religious community, and in the broader Unitarian Universalist faith, we seek to listen, learn, and explore both individual and collective systems of belief. In our services we explore and spiritually engage life through many different lenses.

On most Sundays, the morning service is led by our Minister. We also offer lay-led services (guided by a member of the congregation) and several times a year we have a visiting guest minister. Our deep Judeo-Christian roots combined with an abiding respect for a variety of religious thoughts and practices is always present in our services. This means that Earth-Centered faith traditions, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Humanism, Naturalism and a verity of theological ideas are all welcome in our sanctuary.  Our faith calls upon us to listen with an open heart, and then use what we have heard and learned in the course of our day-to-day lives.

Who Is Welcome?

Everyone is WELCOME.

We believe in (1) the inherent worth and dignity of every person and (2) that no person should be dehumanized through  acts of exclusion, oppression, or violence. UUFCC is a Welcoming Congregation.  No matter where you come from, how you arrive, what you do for a living, or who your people are, you are welcome in this community.  Everyone – Skeptic, Seeker or Believer; Elderly or Young; Disabled or Able; Gay, Straight, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning or Queer – has a place at UUFCC.  Individuals and families are involved in the entire life of the collective including worship, leadership, programming, and social occasions.

We invite you to join us to learn more about the UUFCC.  We will be having a short Getting to Know UU (GTKUU) informational meeting the first Sunday of every month on Zoom after our service.  Just stay in the main room instead of going to a breakout room, and we will meet you there.  We hope to see you!

What Will My Child(ren) Do On Sunday?

Children gather together in one room to join in their opening activities, then break up into grade levels where they learn about our values and other religious traditions, and enjoy age appropriate projects and activities.  One Sunday a month they join the adults for “wisdom lessons,” then return to their classrooms.  Some Sundays, the children and adults participate together in our services.  On Sunday mornings, during the 10:00 a.m. service, we also offer wisdom lessons for the young and the young-at-heart. These lessons are aimed at our wee folk, but have something in them for the entire congregation.

What Happens When I Join a ZOOM Service?

When you initially arrive, you will enter a virtual waiting room. Next, you are welcomed into the service ZOOM space.  Music plays during our pre-service time, offering each of us a place to gently rest, as we wait for the service to begin

What Happens After The Service?

We gather in the Fellowship Hall and Community Room and enjoy food and drinks while we socialize, meet new people, welcome our visitors, and talk to one another. For Zoomers, in lieu of a face-to-face coffee hour, Zoom participants are invited to join breakout rooms following the service. This is a time to meet and greet, to share what is happening in our lives and to get to know one another better.  Members, friends, and visitors are welcome to join a breakout room for conversation.
